Water, water everywhere... I suppose it's a sad fact of being: we can't have everything. There are too many great books to read, too many places to experience, too many possibilities to choose them all, much too much! And unfortunately or fortunately, however you wish to see the glass, there's too much for US to drink and know, this includes vino. Difficult to fathom, I realize, but 'tis true. Very depressing and all that. Don't misunderstand me, we've had a nice barrel or two, red in particular, but we haven't gone out of our way to know why its good or why its horrible, and frankly, not only is our knowledge lacking, so is the contents of our pocket book; we're aiming for CHEAP and GOOD; CHEAP being chief. Be happy if you read of an expensive wine, for Fortune must have, breifly, smiled upon us. So, connoisseurs we are not, but taste buds we do have, and you shall certainly benefit from our creativity in search of the dirt cheap! Jost 2004 Habitant Blanc

This is a very interesting white wine with a heavy smell and fortunately lighter taste of fish, or sea, at the very least. However, it has much more to offer, beginning with a slight pineapple taste which blossoms into a rather stringent grapefruit taste before subsiding to a lightly honeyed aftertaste. The slight fizziness in the mouth makes this wine refreshing and extremely easy-drinking. Probably not ideal with heavy meats or spicy dishes, but I would definitely recommend it for lighter courses or even as an aperitif wine, as it's certainly light enough to justify that.
